deletion not working

Although I have "deleted" from view my wife's antecedents, they are obviously still in the database as a search for any name in that branch brings them up.
How can I permanently delete them such that only my tree is held ?

The options under family tree are not as the help topic described, I have import/export a Gedcom file NOT import/export and other.

You have removed the link between you and your wife, but you did not delete all individuals from your wife's ancestry.

I suggest the following:
- go to https://my.geneanet.org/arbre/save.php?view=export
- enter your name and select "All generations of descendants" and "All generations of collateral relatives": this will export your ancestry plus all related individuals
- go to https://my.geneanet.org/arbre/
- import the new GEDCOM file

Be sure to have a copy of your full GEDCOM file before doing this.
