Here are some updates shared by Jonathan in the French forum regarding Geneanet's DNA tools.

1. Pile up regions: those are regions on chromosomes that contain a large amount of IBD (Identical By Descent) DNA. In essence, the segments in these regions are shared by large segments of population and therefore not useful to identify a match.
- Currently, this is indicated by the accuracy indicator (color dots)
- Red: all segments are in those regions
- Amber & Green: at least one segment is not in those regions
- The next update (in upcoming weeks) will allow filtering out segments in these regions. This will reduce the number of matches, but it will also allow Geneanet to lower the threshold for matching segments
- Currently only segments >= 12.5 cM (if only 1 segment) or 10 cM (if multiple segments) are taken into account
- After the update, it will include segments >= 7 cM

2. Common matches and triangulated segments:
After the changes above are completed, Geneanet will focus on reporting matches in common and triangulated segments

3. Export shared segments of all matches:
This is planned for after the above tasks are completed.

I hope I didn't mess up the translation. :?
